Debt-free

I simply don’t understand, people who say they are broke, yet can afford to go for overseas trip.

And who’s more broke?

Yours truly here has had her passport last stamped in May 2006, and all the stamps are for trips across the causeway, the furthest KL.

No complaints. No point doing comparison when everyone’s family financial situation is different.

Nevermind! When I’ve all debts cleared in 2010, I’ll be a freeman at last.

Short update

Nothing much that I can do with my Fujitsu laptop, since it’s so freaking slow.

So I thought I’ll try and see what I can blog on.

I’m still busy with work, yes I know work is endless. But once this project is over, which is going to be SOON, in say 2-3 weeks’ time, it’s gonna be woohoo~ time!

Still busy but slightly less busy, as most part of the bulk of work had been done, it’s mainly bug fixing now. So I’ve got a wee bit of time to hop over to XBOX area – after office hours – to play a bit of Wii that Yuhui brought to office.

And I must say, I’m addicted. *oops* They got me tempted to get one set of my own, so that the kids can play when they come my place.

Raving Rabbids 2, Ping Pong, Cooking Mama, Mario Kart. Haven started on Mario Kart though, there’s bound to have time for that.

Have been missing out on badminton & Pilates for the past 5 weeks at least. Gosh I need that minimal exercise that I can get every week.

Sigh I miss my after-work activities!

If you’ve chatted with me over msn recently, you might have noticed my display picture:

Let me introduce, this is baby Gabriel 李彦泽, Angie‘s newborn! More photos can be found here. Cute right this photo? Wonder how his parents taught him that. haha! For a 1 mth old, this photo is so cute!

Time really flies. Been receiving quite a number of wedding / baby shower invitations recently. Guess it’s the time now. But no worries, you probably won’t receive one from me anytime soon. =)

Good Job ladies!

输得心服口服!They’re really good!

Nevertheless, good job done ladies! Silver is good enough, for now.

Thank you for helping us clinch a medal after 48 years!

Congratulations Singapore!

Woohoo~ We’re finally getting a medal after 48yrs!

An internal email was sent out at 2.30pm titled “History in the making”.

Xbox area has became the official spot to watch Table Tennis Women Team Semifinals LIVE. (While I catch the scores LIVE online)

5pm. TGIF. Wanted to play Wii, but the gang was still at xbox area. Ended up joining them to watch the matches.

Excited. The Singapore Sporit! The XM spirit! We were all so excited during the match-point! Will we win or will we say bye-bye to the Gold/Silver medal once again?

Alas, the players did us proud! No doubt some people call them China-poreans, but it’s still great having a medal won under the name Singapore! WoohoO!!

The Korea team did great as well! If you’ve missed how the score went this afternoon. SG 1 point, KR 1 point. KR 1 point, SG will add 1 point as well. That’s how close we were.

Nevertheless, WOOTS! We’re guaranteed at least a Silver!

This sunday! Finals! I’m so gonna catch it live!

Jiayou girls! We’re all supporting you back here in Singapore!

The Angel

I can’t stand it when people doesn’t give up their seats without others telling them to.

Though thankfully, they stood up to give up their seats after I politely requested them to.

Happened many times on my way to work. Pissed off with them. What happened to all the manners learnt in primary school?

Take this morning for example. Bus 960 was as packed as usual, this old lady, I estimated her age to be ard 70s, was standing at the 4-seater seats (the one with 2 seats facing backwards). She’s slightly shorter than me, with no seat-handles / bar handles to hold on to, she had to rely on the hanging handle. The route of the bus has quite a few turns before it reaches the next stop, of which the turns, to young people, are not entirely safe without holding on to handles. The hanging handle doesn’t help much ‘coz you have to balance yourself when the bus turns.

Throughout the whole journey, the old lady stood throughout. And the person sitting in front of her, is a woman at her early 30s the most. WTF? Cannot stand up let the old lady sit is it?

I wasn’t an angel today, one thing I was tired, secondly I wanted to see if the woman will stand up or not. #$%^Y&U Wrong choice made. So I asked the lady to stand closer to me and hold on to the seat handle instead. At when she said her feet’s actually aching. Sigh. I should have been an angel and asked people to give up their seats, but doing it so often made me feel like I’m just being a busybody.

The ugliness of Singaporeans.

Happy (belated) Birthday Singapore!

Why do I keep getting the impression that Singaporeans are nothing but spoilt brats?

*bleah*

Please don’t compare our glorious NDP to the Olympics opening. Two different occasions, two different locations, two different countries. Obviously they have the money to do a glam show. If we were to have fireworks only once every 4 yrs, you think ours will not be any grand?

Be proud. No matter how small we are, it’s still a nice place to be in.

Woohoo~

Had been an eventful day, despite spending my precious weekend in office.

Decided to invest in a proper face-care regime, nonchalent about the big hole in my pocket now. 😐

080808 had been a good day, my first assignment as an XM Clubber, TGIF went smoothly. Plus May cycle of the company had been approved, with yours truly here being one of those affected 😀 Nevermind if you don’t understand.

As time passes today, there was a small(?) sense of excitement. Thanks to XZ, finally figured out how to make use of the little & 5 yrs old Canon Powershot A80.

The office building is just opposite where NDP was held. Pretty good view of the fireworks! Glad I made the choice to stay, took over hundred photos! Visit my flickr to view those that are the nicer ones. Quite a lot of blurred photos. Sigh. It’s a good attempt though, first time using the manual settings of the camera =)

One of my favourites:

I saw this online. So pretty!!!!

Compared to the one I took:

I must clarify, the fireworks photos, would have been better if not for the smoke. Not condensation on the window panes!

Not that I wanna complain

I’m sick of organising gatherings. Sending emails like 1 week in advance, no one responded with venue suggestions.

So, of course, the organiser had to make the decision right? Since the gathering is fixed on a friday, reservations had to be done early.

All set on Monday. Sms-ed those who didn’t confirm attendance via email. All ok.

And the organiser is feeling happy.

The night before, when all had been set & confirmed, a sudden suggestion to change location -_-

I dunno.. I felt a pain at the heart. Just like someone took a knife and stabbed on me. Not from the back but from the front. The heart felt heavy.

It’s like.. as the organiser, when still in the planning stage, tried asking for suggestions. When all’s confirmed, then someone suggest change in venue. Somehow it felt like someone threw my work back at me and say “redo”. When I know I tried my best to accomodate everyone.

And the msn conversation went out of control.

I wanted to object the change in location, and knowing me, I usually don’t say “no” outfront. I’m more like a weakling. I know I’ll end up following people’s instructions if I don’t say it out. And I did just that. I violent object the change in location. And somehow, the conversation got a bit embarassing in the sense that we’re all good friends. I don’t feel good.

Though the location is changed back to the originally-planned one, I don’t feel comfortable. Like the mood is gone.

But then, from another point of view, this could be a way of telling me that we really are good friends. ‘Coz when you’re close enough, you’ll be treating everyone like family that you don’t care if they violent object or not. You just want to say your piece, even if it’s at the last minute. ‘Coz you’re comfortable with them.

But probably, there could be a better way of putting things across.

Oh well. Hope things don’t turn out to be very akward tomorrow at the dinner.

It’s tiring

Minimal updates, gone missing, lack of response on MSN. But there’s still constant update on Plurk that you can see on the right bar.

What have I been up to?

Work.

And more work.

Actually it’s just 1.

But it’s enough to take away my time.

Ansley was back few weeks ago, managed to catch up with him for a short dinner, before he had to rush off to babysit his nieces -.- I think I miss the frequent updates on the 3 gals 😀

I’m hoping meet-ups with my gfs can get more frequent. Guess that’s the only way I can get away from work. Bored with my life.

I need more activities in my life. Like visiting the HortPark, or going prawning. Or more movies perhaps.

On a sidenote, congratulations to Shufen on her official graduation from NUS!

My aunts were at my place yesterday. No idea why they were suddenly so adventurous, knowing that Jiawen is coming back on Sat night, they suggested going to the airport to receive her. o.O Jiawen you must be touched eh! Left the airport only at 11pm after a half hour wait for the bus.

Woke up today at noon with a headache, so irritating that I nearly vomit whatever I ate. Forced myself to sleep and felt so much better after waking up at 6.30pm 😀

Still feeling tired. There’s still a slight heacache, hoping it’ll get better tomorrow morning.
